Biography

About Me

Babak Khangholi is an Iranian singer-songwriter, composer, and arranger whose music blends Iranian folk traditions with contemporary jazz. Inspired by his Luri heritage and Persian literature, he creates original works that bridge cultural identity with a modern global sound.

• 2019 – Released the debut official single Anjir (Fig) — Zang Records (Record Label).
• 2020–2021 – Released the Baba Taher Trilogy — Zang Records (Record Label).
• 2022 – Released the Koucheh (The Alley) project.
• 2024 – Released the album Hasht Par — Sarvaa Records (Record Label).
• 2025 – Released the single Bemune Baraye Ahlesh, selected among the Top 10 Jazz-Folk Singles of the Month by BBC Persian.

• 2019 – Composer for the theatre production Motafavetim (We Are Different), Shahrzad Theatre Complex, Tehran.
• 2020 – Composer for the theatre production Odo, selected for the Fajr International Theater Festival.
• 2020 – Composer for the feature film The Northern Hemisphere.
• 2021 – Composer for the feature film The Shadow Party.
• 2021 – Composed the opening theme for the television program Ba Zia.
